I should probably change the title but that'd just be an excuse to hold off on shipping this so.. whatever. Here it goes!
My name’s Nicole. I also go by MC, which stands for Middle Carlton as I am the middle child in my family. Over the past few years, I’ve learned a lot about DIYing through trial and error. I’m not an expert. I didn’t go to trade school. I’m just a serial daydreamer who decided to see if my dreams were possible to create. I’m also too impatient to read a manual and too stubborn to completely give up on a project, so… mistakes were made. So, so many mistakes.
Anyways! This blog isn’t going to be a “Top 10 Tips of generic stuff most people know” or “Guide to blah blah blah.” I don’t feel comfortable giving people advice I wouldn’t take. I will go over the projects I’ve worked on and my process along with the mistakes that I made along the way. I’m a bit concerned this might be an encyclopedia of things NOT to do, but so be it. My grandpa told me when I was a kid, “It doesn’t matter how I get from A to B, whether that’s in a Ferrari or an ‘86 Corolla. People really only care about me getting to my destination, so who cares HOW I get there.” Okay, that’s not a word-for-word quote, but that was the energy and what I kept telling myself through this journey.
Take my advice with a grain of salt, or follow my process step-by-step. I don’t really care, especially since I most likely don’t know who’s reading this and I’ve got enough jumbling up in my noggin anyway. If there was something I’d want anyone to get from all of this, it’d be to try something new out and make mistakes. I’ve made so, so, so, sooooooo many along the way. It’s been embarrassing, but it’s also been silly and fun. If I actually stay consistent with this, I hope you start trying out a new project and enjoy the process along the way.
